Dame Pattie was originally built by an Australian syndicate to challenge for the America’s Cup in 1967.
She was wedge seamed with prime Douglas fir for planking from the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island.
The timber was shipped to Australia. When she was brought to us her hull was very sound but the interior was just a shell.
The goal was to give her a complete interior and equip her for cruising/racing.
Paul Gartside drew the plans for this work
and Jespersens completed a large portion
of the interior layout and the house, cockpit and a teak deck.
